We talk with master health coach and author Gina Diamond about why fear can protect us in real danger but trap us when it is driven by old trauma stored in the body. We share a path toward lasting relief by clearing triggers at the root and rebuilding daily life around pleasure, purpose, and sustainable wellness.

• Gina’s origin story and why she focuses on mothers as the hub of the family
• Survival fear versus fear that blocks growth
• Trauma loops and why present reactions can be anchored in the past

• The “brain filter” idea and the need to bypass it for permanent change
• Coaching support options including discovery sessions plus group and one on one work
• Books on picky eating nutrition and on leaving a long relationship with intuition
• The “DELICIOUS” acronym as a practical wellness roadmap

Meet Health Coach Gina Diamond

SPEAKER_01

here called Gina Diamond. So, Gina, welcome back to the DivaZach Care.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. I'm so excited to be here. And I had no idea you were going, you've been gone for 16 years. It's amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Time flies. You know, you were a guest on the DivaZat Care quite a few years ago when I was really getting started in this. And, you know, it's it's just an honor to have you back.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. I appreciate it. I appreciate what you're doing in the world and and uh look forward to seeing humanity just thrive. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Well, thank you. So, Gina for all of our new listeners today, would you mind reintroducing yourself to us? Sure.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm a master health coach and author, and I help women and the people they influence learn to love being in their body in life. And I primarily do that through spiritual nutrition and movement, trauma release, and living a purposeful and passionate life.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I love that. That's strong. So, Gina, where do you live?

SPEAKER_02

I am on the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington in the United States. And that's beautiful there. It is, we're right by the national park, we're right across from Canada. We love our Canadian neighbors.

SPEAKER_01

Yay, we love that.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So, Gina, how did you get why like how did your journey, your wellness journey start?

Survival Fear Versus Stuck Fear

SPEAKER_01

Oh goodness.

SPEAKER_02

I I honestly feel that I was born to do this. So I came out of the womb really with a with a very strong mission, but I got sidetracked for a while. And I would say it was starting to percolate, but really when I had my my daughter 23 years ago, that's when I really began to understand the importance of doing what I do because I saw firsthand what other parents were doing and what I didn't want to do. I'm not judging because I know we all do our best as parents. I just I just saw really clearly the impact negative choices had us as mothers, not only on, you know, we're the hub of the family, right? And so if we make choices that are quote unquote negative, it really impacts everybody. And so that's why I love working with mothers because I know that I'm gonna get the most bang for the buck. And I and I so growing growing into the wellness world, seeing what kind of parent I wanted to be, I knew that I had to bring wellness into my lifestyle.

SPEAKER_01

I love that, and being able to help others in that process, and that's what it's all about is is giving back to the world and giving back to a community that that really needs it. And I think this is what the world needs is they need somebody that has that energy, has that positivity, and that being authentic and helping others out.

SPEAKER_02

I think we're all born with unique strengths. I call them dependable strengths, and we have a unique way of expressing that. And when we step into that space, that's where so much joy and pleasure can come from. And so it's not it, it is helping humanity and it's also helping ourselves. And when we help ourselves, when we put our own oxygen mask on and do the work that we came here to do, and I put work in in parentheses because really, if you're doing what you love and what you're good at and what you're proud of, it doesn't feel like work, right? Um, you really are being you're being of service to yourself, and then that that spreads to the family, to the community, to the global community, etc.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. That is so powerful. So today our mini-series is victory over fear. And there's some things that you wanted to help our listeners with today. So sure.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I see that there isn't one kind of fear. There's survival fear, which I think actually has a really important place. So if we're being threatened by a cougar, for example, it's natural to have a fear response so that we run away. So there's a place for fear, but where it becomes a problem is when it blocks us or stunts us or keeps us stuck. And especially if we're in a trauma loop, meaning that something in the present has occurred and we have a response to that that isn't based on what's actually going on, it's based on something that happened in our past or in our ancestral line, for example. And that's where it doesn't serve us. And so if we can clear it and clear it in the right way, so it's not because we hold trauma, triggers, limiting beliefs, programs, we hold it in the body. Isn't cleared, it will continually get triggered and come up and be in our present and our now, and we'll never really be truly free. So that's the kind of fear that I would like to see people be victorious over. And to be victorious over that, it's really important that we clear it permanently. And the reason I say that is partly because of my own personal journey. I I um have had many years, unfortunately, spent in the experience of depression and anxiety, which is connected to fear for sure. And I was doing all sorts of things. It's it's also an answer to your question, it's also what put me on this on this healing journey of wellness. That's because I wanted to, I wanted to get to the root of what was going on with me and have a different life. And then I wanted to share that with others. And I I saw I was doing, I've done so many different things in my life, and they all had a place. I feel like they all got me to where I where I am today. However, there was a missing key, and there'll probably continue to be missing keys. I never want to say that I've learned it all or figured it all out. And this particular missing key was pretty life-changing for me because I was doing all this work and I would get temporary relief, but it wouldn't be permanent. I was like, why does it okay? I so yesterday I felt at peace with this, but now today I'm depressed again. So what's going on? So there's multiple layers to why people have fear and anxiety and all that.

Trauma Loops And The Brain Filter

SPEAKER_02

What I've learned from my mentor, Arno Garam, I want to give him a shout out because he's the man that trained me, he's the man that um basically brought himself back from The Walking Dead because of his trauma. And um and he gets all the credit. I'm just I'm just um sharing his message. And so one of the things that he taught me is that if you don't bypass the brain filter, which comes down at night when we're sleeping or when we're in alpha state, we will not permanently, we will not have permanent results. And the reason for that is if the brain filter works correctly in an ideal situation, if we if we all lived in ideal situations and we were healthy, the brain filter would be our best friend. But because we don't, and there's so much trauma in the world, what happens is that something occurs, most of us build a story around that, and that gets stored in the body. And if the story that we have is not congruent with whatever healing work we did that day, the brain filter will erase that work. So that's why people have to keep working. Oh, you know, they have to keep trying and trying and striving and striving, and and um, then they're never really done. I mean, I know it's a journey, we're all on this healing journey, but you can clear a layer of something and never have it get triggered, never have it come up again, but you have to bypass that brain filter. And that's so important for fear as well as sadness and anger. Is it difficult to get past that filter? No, it's really super easy, and that's what I that's the process I take my my clients through. Um, Arnaud says, and I have seen this to be true, that 80% of our emotional response to situations is um based on the past and can be cleared by bypassing the brain filter. It's really easy to do. You can actually learn how to do it on your own. However, I recommend that you start with somebody like me to understand how the process works and um experience with a facilitator, and then eventually you can do it on your own.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. And do you work with people

Coaching Options And Book Projects

SPEAKER_01

all around the world? I do. So through your coaching packages, a person can take a course. Do they do one-on-one or do they do it in a group setting?

SPEAKER_02

I have both. So depending on, there's pros and cons to both. So depending on, and I always start everybody with a free discovery session. So that's part of what we explore is what's going to be the best fit for that particular person.

SPEAKER_01

Excellent. And you've got some books you were mentioning that you have co-authored. Tell us a little bit about those.

SPEAKER_02

So I have one book that's published. It's called Hidden Treasures: Sneaking Love and Health into Every Bite. And it's for families with picky eaters. And you can probably guess who my inspiration was for that. My lovely daughter, she's not a picky eater anymore, thank goodness. And I am I have written a book about my journey of choosing to leave a 23-year relationship, the father of my daughter, which was a very, very hard decision for me. But the best, but I needed to do it. Anyway, it's about it's it's um my nine-year experience after making that decision tell the time my daughter graduated from high school. So it's I want to help women feel empowered in making decisions that are right for them based on their intuition, which is our connection to source, creator, God, whatever you want to, whatever name you it works for you to assign to your higher power, and to um not feel pressured to do things based on societal norms or what you were taught in school or what your what your parents taught you. Not that not that parents don't have a place to guide us, but it ultimately we do need to know that we have, especially women, we have our own internal wisdom and guiding system, which is our intuition. So I made a lot of mistakes through that process. The way that I I left my ex. I basically walked away initially. I I walked away from our house. I did take some clothes, but I we had one car, we were one car family. I gave him the car. Um, I had no money, and um basically that wasn't that didn't continue to be true, but uh I wouldn't I wouldn't suggest that women do that. So I wanted to share some of the lessons learned and how you can how you can come to a place of peace around the decision that you make. I'm not even advocating that every that every woman that's unhappy should leave her marriage. I I really do actually believe in marriage very strongly. I'm I'm in a committed long-term relationship now, uh after, I don't know, 13 years or something. And um anyway, so that's what the second book is. It's in the editing phase, and and I hope that will come out next year.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, well, I can't wait to read it. I think that's gonna be brilliant. It's

The Delicious Framework Explained

SPEAKER_01

gonna be absolutely wonderful. And so I'm I'm kind of been thinking about this for a while because I really don't know the answer to this question that I have. What does the acronym Delicious mean?

SPEAKER_02

Oh gosh, I'll have to bring that up on my on the web.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. I'm like, what a great thing. You know, for all of our listeners, I want them to go check out your website because it's so colorful. It is just it grabs your attention and it makes you feel good. Like it just like it's just a feel good kind of website. Uh and so I thought, okay, what does that mean?

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, if you could tell me what the all of our listeners well, it's a great question, and I you're inspiring me to memorize it. But yeah, let me, I can look it up. So my website's Gina Diamond, my name, G-I-N A, Diamond Likestone.com. Okay, so the D is dense nutrition, the E is elevate, the L is love, I is improve, prog, which means progress, not perfection. C is cleanse, so dissolving the toxins and the trauma in the body, letting go of all that doesn't work for us. So putting into the body all that supports our healing mechanism and letting go of all that does not. I is for inspiration, O is for open-mindedness, U is for you because I can't do this journey alone. I need to partner with people who are ready to step in. And then S is sustained. So offering solutions like the Garan technique that are going to be um long-term solutions. I don't, I don't want to do quick fixes. I want to do things that are, I don't, I, it's not even a want. I am doing things that are permanently giving people an avenue to love being in their body and life.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's wonderful. And that's so important to do that. I think everybody wants a quick fix nowadays. There, there's so many things out there, like, oh, I can be 30 days. You just give me 30 days, just give me this. And I'm like, it doesn't, it takes us a lot longer to get where we're at. It's not going to fix itself that quickly. So it's going to take that process. So what kind of things besides this do you use in order to work with your clients? Like, I I want to talk a little bit about, you know, perhaps the topics. Like, I know that you have uh quite a few different topics that you can do for um the public speaking kind of stuff, but you let's kind of dive into some of these other things because I think a lot of people think just listening to you today that you've got one thing that you do, but in actuality, you do a wide amount of things to help individuals.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it's true. Um, thank you for for seeing that. And and before I answer that question and go into, I do want to respond to what you just said about I while I don't believe in quick fixes, I will say that when you clear a layer of trauma, you can clear that. And I'm not, I don't make promises that this will happen, but I have seen it happen. You can clear a layer of trauma in one session, you know. But the thing is, is it doesn't mean that there's not 10 layers underneath that. And so that's why it is important that people step into a mindset of, okay, this could take a minute. But I have had people who have had really horrible things happen to them, like incest, where they're completely debilitated in certain areas of their life as a result of it, maybe not all. Um, and I have seen I have seen it be cleared in one session. So that wasn't my experience when I was doing this work for whatever reason. It took me months, but my clients seem to seem to kind of go through it much, much quicker than me. So I you can get relief quickly. That doesn't mean that there isn't more layers to be looked at and to be moved through the body. So I just wanted to clarify that. Um, yes, and so my topics, it's interesting because I had a business coach who, and I hear this on the internet, you you've got to be you're too broad, you're too broad, you gotta narrow, you gotta focus on one thing, just focus on weight loss. Everybody cares about weight loss. And I was like, No, I don't actually think that's true. I think people want to just feel the best that they can and and thrive in their life. And so I've made the conscious choice not to be narrow. I've made because I see wellness as a wheel, and there are there are many spokes on the wheel, and um, so I want to start with people based on what they're willing and open to explore. That's where we start usually. I might make a recommendation like, hey, you're gonna get the most bang for your buck if we do this, but I I don't want to ever just say, okay, get to the weight you desire and you're gonna be happy in life. It's not true. There, there are lots of people that lose the weight and they're still really unhappy. And um, I know that firsthand

Why Pleasure Supports Women’s Health

SPEAKER_02

actually. So I want to bring in all these other pieces, and I and at the same time, my work is becoming more and more about pleasure. Because I predominantly work with women, what I've come to understand is that women's bodies are regulated by oxytocin, and oxytocin is created when we have pleasure. And because a lot of women, including myself, grew up in a system that encouraged us to be like men, to work like men, to push, to strive, to work long hours, to be the CEO. And that takes a toll on women's bodies. I'm not saying that women shouldn't do it because I know women have a lot to contribute, but women need rest, we need rejuvenation, we need to be surrounded by beauty, we need to take naps, we need to take walks in nature. And again, I'm not saying men don't, but men are regulated by dopamine. And so if women act like men, which is my story, um, we produce a lot of dopamine, and that actually decreases oxytocin in the body. And if we if we don't have oxytocin, we that's a lot of this ease is a result of that, and so I want to give women permission to be women, to be feminine, and to contribute and be leaders in ways that are aligned with how we are biologically, and so um I'm I'm gonna be launching a new course that is called Pleasure, and it is gonna be about all things pleasure, everything from spiritual nutrition. I what like yes, we eat for nutrition, but we also eat for pleasure. We also eat because we enjoy it, we also eat because it creates connection between those that we're eating with. Um, obviously, if you release your trauma and triggers and you're not being triggered all the time, that's going to bring pleasure. I want to encourage women to create space in their life where they can walk a little slower and they can smell bull roses, literally, and they can take a nap during the day if they need that. And um there's also uh the way that we are designed sexually. We we women are designed for a lot of pleasure sexually. And even that was was dumbed down. And so I want to bring people back into uh that space of understanding that the women's body is built for pleasure all the ways. And so I wanna I wanna I wanna give people the roadmap for um like for example something that I never knew, I never was taught. Women can have cervical orgasms and and why is that important? Well, it's important because our yonis, our our female genitalia, we birth, we birth through that, whether we have a we we have a baby or not, is the place that we birth projects and we birth um initiatives and we birth ideas from. It's one of the one of the places in our body. And so I and I I meet a lot of women that are really, they have a lot of, they're carrying a lot of trauma in their yanis. And um they've they've lost their ability to orgasm. They they they're all sometimes they're even, they don't want to give themselves permission. They're they're afraid. They're afraid if they allow allow themselves to bring in pleasure, like what you know, what's gonna happen? Am I gonna go crazy? Am I gonna live a life that's not not uh in alignment with my values and stuff like that? And um, and so I I want to just dispel some of those myths and show people how show women how their bodies were made and why, and what that can bring in terms of feeling empowered, feeling connected to our purpose and our passion, and contributing, using that as a springboard to contribute and be of service to humanity.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's really important. I I love how I thought you just explained that. Um are you is this is this something that you

Retreats In The Woods And Intuitive Eating

SPEAKER_01

can do a retreat with?

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely, yeah. So I'm gonna start doing wellness in the woods. I've done wellness in the woods before because I because where I live is just so phenomenal. Um, but I'm gonna start doing it on my land actually, and people can come here for retreats. I have a massive garden, so I'm gonna feed them right from the garden. Um, I'm gonna teach them about so spiritual nutrition as opposed to regular nutrition is uh it's very it's it's an intuitive way of eating versus like, oh, I'm gonna do the carnivore diet, or I'm gonna do be a vegan, or I'm gonna um do keto, or you know, it's not following a fad. It's learning, it's it's learning about what my what does my body need to thrive and what in nature provides that. So like, okay, maybe I maybe I have issues around being feeling really strong and steadfast. Well, you would what would be helpful for most people in that situation is eating things from the wild. Because if you eat wild blueberries, for example, they inhabit the qualities of being in order to survive the wild, they have to have the qualities of being steadfast. And so when you eat that, your your it transfers to the human to the human experience. So I want people to come to land to learn about that. We'll do the trauma release stuff. We'll do, I do a conscious movement called five-brain yoga, which is all about integrating the head, heart, and the gut, but also learning about the fascia, how the fascia is connected to our nervous systems. And if we stretch in the right, if we stretch our fascia in the right way, our nervous system calms down. I want to teach people also about the lymph system so that they're they are properly detoxifying. So that's the five-brain yoga, conscious movement piece. People can come because I do do so many things, they can say, hey, I want to retreat around this. Like maybe they're like, hey, I want it all to be about, I, you know, I want to learn how my body works. I want it to be about um pleasure, or maybe they're they're like, hey, I hate my job, I don't know how to get out of it. I have a limiting belief around it. I want to get rid of that limiting belief, but then I also need help to take steps towards creating the life that I want, towards creating more of a calling than a career. So um, yeah, so they can they could come and stay on the land and tell me exactly what they want, and I could create a retreat. And it can be a personal individual retreat, or you can come out with your girlfriends, and we can do a whole thing together and have that connection and accountability and sounds like fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it sounds like a good time, it sounds like something that the body needs. And I think as we get older too, we have more of that awareness that you know, sometimes things are missing and we're not too sure what it is. And we crave something, but we're not too sure what it is. And what you're kind of offering to women out there is that ability to find what your body's craving, what it is that it's missing, what it's it's it's needing in order to, you know, maybe evolve or to get to the next step.

SPEAKER_02

I love that. And I often ask people who have addictions, whether it's food or alcohol, I'm like, what are you really craving? So you're substituting, you're you're picking something to numb out, but you're not really addressing that you have the craving for food or alcohol or whatever or pot, but you're really craving something else. So thank you, Candace. That's you you hit the nail on the head.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I just want to say thank you so much for taking your time to be on the Divis That Care. I'd love to have you back on the podcast here because there is so many things that I think that we can kind of dive into a little bit more. Awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I I really I'm I'm as you can tell, I'm very passionate about this work and I I really want to reach as many people as I can because I know people are really hopeless right now. A lot of people are really not everybody. Um, some people are thriving and some people are really struggling. And I just I want to give people hope that it doesn't just be because that's that's in your that's that's your experience in the now doesn't mean it has to be your experience tomorrow or next week or next month.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I I agree with you so much. Thank you so much for coming on the Divasat Care today and really being a part of this mini-series, Victory Over Fear. I think it's a perfect topic for this month, but it's having people like yourself coming in and helping us because that's what it's about is we discover healing, faith, resilience, action. You know, we want to figure out these barriers that are keeping us stuck. And you you are a person that really can help us with that um transformation. So thank you again for being my amazing guest today. Is there any last-minute, you know, perhaps tips or tools, things you'd love to share with our listeners?

Small Pleasure Practices And Closing

SPEAKER_02

Um I I think uh I don't think I know. As a next step for anybody out there that just wants to get started on the journey, I would say, how can you bring a little bit more pleasure into your life? Can you take a bath? Can you walk in a beautiful place that is full of color? Can you get your hands in the dirt? Can you sing? Can you dance? Like whatever you can do to bring a little bit more pleasure in your life, you're gonna create oxytocin and you're gonna start feeling better.

SPEAKER_01

Perfect. Thank you so much. And for all of our listeners, I'm gonna be posting Gina's information on our social media so that you guys can go and just click and check her out. So, Gina, thank you so much for being my amazing guest today.
